Kanye West Goes Off on Grammys for Denying Him and Bianca Censori Tickets: ‘I Had to Fight’
Kanye West has slammed the Recording Academy for not providing him and his wife, Bianca Censori, with tickets to the 2025 Grammy Awards, despite the rapper receiving a nomination.
On Saturday, February 3, West took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration, calling out the organizers of the event held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
“How could the Grammys nominate me and then not give me tickets? And then people get mad when I go off,” West wrote.
The rapper explained that he had to fight for hours and contact everyone he knew just to secure access to the event.
“I had to fight for five hours and call everyone I knew to get tickets to the Grammys. They eventually gave me tickets, but only for the red carpet. At that point, I hadn’t even started the rampage.”
West and Ty Dolla $ign were nominated for Best Rap Song with their track “Carnival,” but the award went to Kendrick Lamar for “Not Like Us.”
A Grammy executive producer later confirmed that West and Censori were not given seats inside the venue because the rapper was not scheduled to appear on stage.
“They didn’t have a nomination that was part of the telecast, and Kanye wasn’t presenting,” Raj Kapoor told People. “He wasn’t performing either, which is mostly what those seats are reserved for.”
Following this controversy, West posted an antisemitic rant on X and defended Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing sex trafficking allegations. Shortly after, his account was temporarily deactivated.
Additionally, Page Six recently reported that West and Bianca Censori had split due to his social media behavior. However, the rapper’s representative denied rumors of a divorce.
“Announcements about their private life will come directly from them, not from unsourced rumors in the tabloid press,” said spokesperson Milo Yiannopoulos.
